أعلن محرك البحث الروسي "ياندكس"عن تجديد خدمته "خرائط  ياندكس" بالكامل، وذلك بزيادة دقة الخرائط وشموليتها. أصبحت تلك الخدمة الآن تشمل العالم كله، وليس روسيا فقط ما يعتبر تحديا مباشرا لخدمات "غوغل" و"مايكروسوفت" في هذا المجال. وقال مدير الخدمة أندريه ستريلكوف إن النسخة القديمة من خرائط "ياندكس" كانت تبين المدن والطرق رئيسية والجسور محطات القطارات في حين أصبحت الخريطة الجديدة أكثر تفصيلا فهي تشمل تسميات الشوارع والمتنزهات باللغة الروسية وباللغات المحلية. يستند محرك "ياندكس" في رسم خرائط الدول الأجنبية إلى قاعدة "Navted" التابعة لشركة "نوكيا" والتي تستخدم لمسارات السيارات. وتتعهد شركة "ياندكس" بأن تجدد كل ثلاثة أشهر قاعدة البيانات على موقع خرائطها، وفي الملحق التابع لها على الإنترنت، وكذلك على المواقع الالكترونية التابعة لشركائها . وذكر ستريلكوف أن حجم المعطيات المشغلة في الخدمة ازداد بمقدار 11 مرة مشيرا إلى أن محرك "ياندكس" سيتنافس مع "غوغل" و"مايكروسوفت" في خدمات الخر...
