NVIDIA Unveils 7-Inch Tegra Note 7 Tablet With Advanced Stylus

صورة
On the same day that Apple  announced the availability  of its much-anticipated  Retina iPad mini , NVIDIA and its U.S. partner EVGA unveiled its own 7-inch Android tablet called the EVGA Tegra Note 7. Equipped with a  Tegra 4  quad-core processor, a 1280x800 display, micro HDMI to connect to HD televisions, 16GB of storage and a 5-megapixel camera (along with a front-facing webcam), the $199 device offers a strong Android tablet alternative to the pricier Nexus 7 and Galaxy Note 8. EVGA claims that the device has the world’s first  HDR  camera in a tablet, a feature that could draw interest from those looking to use the Tegra Note 7 as their primary photo-taking device, rather than a smartphone or a standalone camera. Aside from its speedy processor and budget-friendly price, NVIDIA is focused on showing off the power of its stylus device. In an elaborate  demonstration video , NVIDIA compares the sensitivity and accuracy of its D...

7 Tips for Buying Headphones

صورة

However, it's worth putting in a little research to find the best audio quality with the right mix of personal listening features. If you're in the market for a new pair, here are a few tips to take the mystery out of the purchase. Consider these seven points and you'll be able to find the right headphones for you. 1. Think about when you'll use them. The first thing to ask yourself is what you'll be using the headphones for. Are you looking for a pair that can stay balled up in your messenger bag? Will you be  taking them to the gym  for your workout? Will they accompany you on international plane trips? Or will you be hooking them up to a hi-fi stereo for intense listening? Knowing...

Apple Reportedly Developing Curved iPhone Screens

صورة
Apple  is developing  iPhones  with curved-glass screens and enhanced sensors that detect different levels of pressure,  according to a new report . Two models — with screens of 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches —are in the works, and both would use glass that curves downward at the edges, Bloomberg reported, citing an anonymous source familiar with the plans. These screen sizes almost rival that of  Samsung's Galaxy Note 3, which boasts a 5.7-inch screen . For its part, Apple's  iPhone 5S has a 4-inch screen . The new phones would likely be released in the third quarter of next year, the source said, adding that Apple is also testing "pressure-sensitive technology," which won't be ready for the next iPhone launch. Curved glass has become a smartphone trend among major tech companies.  Samsung released its  Galaxy Round phone , which has a 5.7-inch curved display, while LG is set to release its  G Flex phone , which is curved from top to bo...

Despite having its fair share of skeptics,  Google Glass  continues to accrue enhancements that could make it a mainstream hit when it officially debuts next year. The latest is from New York-based company  Rochester Optical , which promises to release a special prescription lens add-on for the device in early 2014 (image above is not of the unreleased product). Rochester Optical announced on Wednesday that  Tim Moore , one of the early Glass Explorers, will join its prescription-lens project. “We’ll be ready to start selling these to the public, at the latest, by January,” Moore told  Mashable . The Google Glass-ready prescription lenses will be priced in the same range as standard prescription lenses, according to Moore. Customers will be able to visit a website where they can choose a matching color for their existing device, and enter their prescription information. Lenses will then be shipped to them within two business days. “The arm mount will...

صورة
An iPad Air has exploded at one Australian phone store. As a result, the local fire department was called and the scene had to be evacuated, according to  Mail Online. After the  Federal Aviation Administration   announced Thursday  that it would begin easing restrictions on passengers' use of electronic devices during flights, JetBlue captured the new policy in a video.
