LG Reveals the Fireweb, Its First Firefox Smartphone
LG launched its first Firefox OS smartphone on Wednesday, called the Fireweb — a 4-inch device that runs Mozilla's mobile operating system. Previously, Firefox OS has appeared on smartphones such as the ZTE Open, but this is the first full Firefox OS smartphone for LG. The Fireweb (pictured below) will arrive in Brazil via local carrier Telefonica. "Telefónica announced that Vivo will sell the new LG Fireweb and Alcatel One Touch Fire Firefox OS phones in Brazil, starting today," Mozilla wrote on its official blog . "Telefónica also announced that they will launch Firefox OS phones soon in Mexico, Peru and Uruguay." Earlier this month, Mozilla revealed it would launch Firefox OS-based devices in new markets worldwide .
