  Apple's 13-inch MacBook Pro With Retina Display boasts the same 2,560 x 1,600-pixel display as last year, but also includes many enhancements, including support for 802.11ac Wi-Fi networks and faster read/write speeds. It's a little buggy out of the box, but it's a very solid machine. It starts at $1,299.

  Aluminum Unibody

  The 13-inch MacBook Pro keeps solid the aluminum-unibody design, although it shaves off some bulk and weighs about 3.5 pounds.

  Apple Logo

  The Apple logo in back still lights up when the screen is active.

  Going Retina

  The sharp retina display makes photos and text look their best, and it doesn't lose detail even at maximum brightness.

  Superb Keyboard

  Apple's backlit keyboards are some of the best in class, and this one is no different.

  Big Trackpad

  Apple's trackpads are the best in class, bar none, responding to taps, clicks and swipes fluidly and reliably (barring bugs, of course).

  Reflections

  The one downside to the great screen is the glare from reflections, which can be an issue in a bright room.

  Left Side Ports

  On the left are the MagSafe power port, two Thunderbolt 2 ports, a USB 3.0 port, the headphone jack and a pair of microphones.

  On the left are another USB 3.0 port, a full-size HDMI port and an SD card slot.

  Unlike previous generations of MacBooks, the Retina models don't open, so components can't be replaced
