أنقذ داريل بارتون وهو سائق حافلة ركاب، سيدة من محاولة "انتحار"، كانت واقفة على حافة جسر في مدينة نيويورك. توقف سائق الحافلة عندما رأى شابة تبلغ من العمر نحو 20 عاماً، وسألها إن كانت بحاجة لمساعدته، قبل أن يذهب إليها ويساعدها في تجاوز الحاجز الفاصل بين حافة الجسر والرصيف، ثم جلس معها على الرصيف للحديث معها، وسط تصفيق ركاب الحافلة. وقال داريل بارتون لوسائل الإعلام: "كان يجب أن أكون بجانبها في تلك اللحظة، وهذا ما فعلت".  المصدر: RT + "يوتيوب"   

إن مت ظمآنا فلا نزل المطر". يبدو أن السمكة التي تمكن 3 صيادين من الإيقاع بها انطلقت من هذه المقولة حين شعرت بنهاية المواجهة غير المتكافئة بينها وبين الرجال الثلاثة. قررت السمكة التي تبدو بحجمها أقرب إلى سمك القرش أن أفضل ما يمكنها القيام به قبل إعلان الهزيمة هو الإقدام على المحاولة الأخيرة، علها تفلح بإصابة من يمكن إصابته، فطارت بمعنى الكلمة إلى زورق الصيد كالسهم الخارق. وبالفعل نجحت السمكة العملاقة، وهي من أسماك المرلين، بذلك بعد ان اقتحمت الزورق، ففقد أحد الصيادين سيطرته على نفسه ليجد نفسه يتبادل وإياها المكان، فأصبح هو في الماء بينما كانت تنتفض السمكة ذات الرمح الحاد، في ما بدا وكأنه رقصة الموت، أما الصياد الشاب فكان يحاول البقاء على قيد الحياة.. المصدر: RT + "يوتيوب"

اضطرت السلطات القطرية إلى التراجع عن وضع تمثال  " نطحة زيدان "  في كورنيش العاصمة الدوحة، وذلك بعد انتقادات دينية واسعة من عرض هذا التمثال الضخم للعامة، في دولة لا ترحب بالتماثيل التي تجسد هيئة البشر أو الحيوانات. كانت هيئة متاحف قطر قد قامت بعرض التمثال في إحدى المناطق المطلة على الكورنيش في الدوحة، بعدما اشترته من مركز  " بومبيدو "  في العاصمة الفرنسية باريس. لكن ظهرت انتقادات دينية حادة بواسطة المحافظين، الذين اعتبروا هذا التمثال ووجوده في شوارع الدوحة، بمثابة دعوة صريحة لعودة عبادة الأصنام مجددا. واضطر مسئولو المتحف القطري إلى نقل التمثال إلى المتحف العربي للفن الحديث، خوفا من قيام أي شخص متشدد بالهجوم على التمثال لتحطيمه، ولامتصاص غضب رجال الدين المحافظين الذي أطلقوا حملة شرسة على التمثال، الذي يمثل نطحة رأس قام زين الدين زيدان ضد اللاعب الإيطالي ماركو ماتيراتزي، خلال المباراة النهائية في مونديال كأس العالم  " ألمانيا  2006". وخلال الأيام الماضية، كان هناك  " هاشتاج "  على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي  " تويتر "  تم تخصيص...

 طفلة باكستانية تخرج من قبرها لتخبر عن اغتصابها حفرت طفلة باكستانية قبرها بيديها لكن للخروج منه، وذلك بعد أن دفنها رجلان ظنا منهما أنها قد فارقت الحياة جراء الصدمة التي أصابتها بعد تعرضها للاغتصاب الوحشي من قبلهما. اختطف الرجلان الطفلة البالغة من العمر 13 عاما وهي في طريقها من منزلها في إحدى قرى مقاطعة البنجاب إلى مدرسة حيث تتلقى التعليم الديني وتحفظ القرآن. بعد أن علم باختطافها توجه والد الطفلة على الفور إلى قسم الشرطة في القرية لتقديم بلاغ بالواقعة، لكن رجال الأمن لم يحركوا ساكنا للبحث عنها. وبينما كان والد الطفلة يسعى جاهدا للعثور على ابنته الصغيرة، اقتاد المعتديان ضحيتهما إلى مكان مهجور حيث قاما باغتصابها، ومن ثم قاما بدفنها، علما أنها على قيد الحياة. بعد أن انصرف الرجلان سريعا من المكان بدأت الطفلة تزيل التراب الذي انهال فوقها، فتمكنت من الخروج كما تمكنت من لفت انتباه بعض ممن أرسلهم لها القدر في تلك اللحظة، فنقلوها على وجه السرعة إلى أقرب مركز طبي. مرة أخرى رفضت الشرطة المحلية فتح ملف تحقيق بالحادثة، فأصدرت محكمة لاهور العليا قرارا يلزم الشرطة بالبحث عن الجناة وإعداد تقرير...

Twitter  streams across America are now full of pictures, but yours doesn't have to be. An update to the microblogging site Tuesday  automatically displays images  and Vine videos meaning users don't need to click on a tweet in order to see its visual content. The change has already been implemented on the web, and is available to iOS and Android mobile users who update their app. But not everyone wants to see tweeted pictures automatically, and there are ways to turn off Tuesday's new feature on mobile. Simply go to settings within the app, and deselect the "Image Previews" tab. Simple as that. It does not appear that you can turn off picture and video previews on Twitter's desktop version, but there may be another setting you wish to visit. Open the settings tab on Twitter.com and you can find a way to set up warnings for content that might be sensitive. Facebook  may be adding to the list of things it knows about you. The social network is reportedly experimenting with new technology that tracks and collects data about a user's activity on the site, including cursor movements,  according to the  Wall Street Journal . The technology is being tested now with a small group of users. The data could be used in a number of different ways, from product development to advertising, Facebook analytics chief Ken Rudin told the  Journal . The technology can supposedly determine where a user is hovering his or her cursor on the screen, meaning it could be used to determine the most appropriate places for advertisements. The technology also tracks whether Facebook's mobile users can see their  News Feed  at any particular time from their smartphone. Facebook  stock surged to a new high in after hours trading after the company beat earnings estimates for the third quarter. Facebook reported earnings of $0.25 per share on revenue of $2.02 billion, coming in well ahead of Wall Street estimates for earnings of $0.19 per share on revenue of $1.91 billion. Facebook revenue for the quarter was up 60% from the $1.2 billion it earned a year earlier, thanks in part to continued growth in mobile ads. Mobile ads now account for 49% of Facebook's total ad revenue — or just under $900 million — up from 41% in the previous quarter and 30% in the first quarter, meaning Facebook is very close to being a truly  mobile-first company . "The strong results we achieved this quarter show that we're prepared for the next phase of our company, as we work to bring the next five billion people online and into the knowledge economy," said  Mark Zuckerberg , Facebook's cofounder and CEO, said in a statement. Cecilia Abadie made history in a way she didn't expect Tuesday night — when a California Highway Patrol officer gave her the world's first known ticket for wearing  Google Glass  while driving. Abadie is a project manager at Full Swing Golf in San Diego, and an enthusiastic Glass Explorer. She told her story, and  posted the ticket in question , on Google+. The first violation on the ticket is driving in excess of 65 mph — not an uncommon violation in California. But the second violation reads “Driving with monitor visible to driver (Google Glass)." To make that part of the ticket stick, however, the officer in question will have to prove that Abadie had the screen active at the time. She says it wasn't. California Vehicle Code section 27602 says you can't drive if a video screen "is operating and the monitor, screen, or display is visible to the driver while driving the motor vehicle." SAN FRANCISCO — Samsung announced a bunch of new developer tools features at its first Samsung Dev Con  earlier this week, but the one that really caught our eye was its new MultiScreen software development kit (SDK) . The idea behind the MultiScreen SDK is to let developers create more seamless experiences between apps on a phone or tablet and on a TV. The idea is that you can fling content from an app on your phone directly to your television set and then have that content play off of the TV, not your phone. If you think this sounds a lot like  Chromecast , you'd be right. However, there is a key difference. Much of Chromecast's implementation involves the DIAL standard, which lets apps "discover" compatible devices that it can send content to. Then it basically sends out a URL that launches an app or instance.
